Sure, we’re all entitled to do something that’s against our will anymore, but leaving without any reason is not acceptable.
Again, it will never be.

Be mature enough to leave. As much as possible, be honest. Tell them what you really feel. Be vocal about you, planning to go away. It may hurt them, but at least they’re not clueless of what’s going on.
Stop giving them traumatic stress. Stop making them feel like they’re useless and worthless. Stop doing it just because you’re free to do so.

Those people you left hanging are trying their very best to appreciate and see the goodness in people. Even though they can’t see it in themselves.  They’re fighting to live and heal their wounds, but you destroy them. In just a snap. Just like that.
