As we sat around outside under the cold dark sky, I took a lighter,
she reached out for the wood which I could but anyways I needed a helping hand to start a fire.
No words were said, just the sound of the crickets,
it was getting colder by time and I began to feel it.
Tell me your darkest secrets,
she asked as she directly looked into my eyes waiting to hear it.
I don't have non, that's the insecure me
replying silently.
I don't wanna speak of a past that has broken me.
Well then I'll speak about mine,
she said as she laid her head against mine with the rest of her body at an incline.
As she was pouring her heart out, I brought my cup out and filled it with her tears,
ready to drink from her pain and ready to share her fears.
it's strange right? how I'm able to digest someone's sorrow and yet I reject the help they are willing to offer me in return.
But that's just how it is, I lit the fire in me and let it burn.
I went through tough times in life and still I was afraid to learn.
Afraid to learn about my truth, so each time it came straight to me, I would avoid it taking a U turn.
Why do I hurt myself you may ask, but I don't think that's any of your concern.
I'm like a burden
to my own self.
A threat to my mental health.
And yet you say you wanna hear about my past.
You might say each and every moment that you'll always be here, but if I told about my darkest secrets, something I constantly fear. would your patience still last....

Snacks at midnight
Or take me on bike rides
Or dance with me in joy

everything has gone back to normal
